The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School recognized a critical need for improved facilities at the students’ encampment. With the growing number of students, it became clear that the existing structures were no longer adequate to support their housing and dining needs. The PTA, understanding the importance of providing a conducive environment for learning and living, took it upon themselves to address this issue.
After several discussions and consultations, the PTA initiated a fundraising effort to gather the necessary resources for the project. Parents, teachers, and well-wishers came together to contribute towards the construction of new buildings. Their goal was to provide both a dormitory for the students and a proper dining facility where they could comfortably eat their meals. The overwhelming support from the school community and beyond made the fundraising a great success.
With the funds secured, construction began on two key structures. The first was a multi-storey building, designed to serve as a dormitory for the students. This modern facility offers ample space, better ventilation, and more comfortable living conditions compared to the previous housing arrangements. Each floor is equipped with modern amenities, providing the students with a more pleasant and organized environment to rest and study.
In addition to the dormitory, a second building was constructed to serve as a dining hall. This spacious facility allows the students to gather in a comfortable setting for their meals. It was designed with a focus on hygiene and convenience, ensuring that the students no longer have to worry about overcrowded or inadequate dining spaces. The new dining hall has transformed mealtime into a more enjoyable experience for the students.
The PTA’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of the students at St. Thomas Aquinas SHS has had a profound impact.
