A New Chapter Begins: The Induction of Rev. Fr. Dr. George Obeng Appah as Headmaster
On Wednesday, 30th April 2025, the atmosphere at St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School was one of reverence and celebration as the school community, dignitaries, alumni, and clergy gathered at the Durbar Grounds for the official induction of Rev. Fr. Dr. George Obeng Appah as Headmaster. The event, officiated by Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, marked a historic moment in the school’s journey. The ceremony featured a colourful parade, heartfelt addresses, and the symbolic rites of installation, including the administration of the oath of office and enthronement of the new headmaster.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Appah brings to Aquinas a wealth of experience in both pastoral ministry and educational leadership. With an impressive academic background—spanning theology, education, counseling, and business administration—his journey has been marked by dedication, excellence, and a deep commitment to nurturing young minds. Prior to this appointment, he served in several roles including Chaplain at Achimota School, Assistant Headmaster at Akramaman SHS, and most recently, Assistant Headmaster (Administration) at Achimota School. His appointment as headmaster is seen as a divine alignment of purpose and leadership for a school that continues to uphold values of truth and academic excellence.
As he steps into this esteemed role, Rev. Fr. Dr. Appah has received overwhelming support from stakeholders including the Parent-Teacher Association, alumni (Old Toms), the Archdiocesan Education Committee, and sister institutions. All pledged their unflinching support and prayers for his success. The Aquinas family believes that under his leadership, the school is poised for renewed growth—academically, spiritually, and structurally. The entire community looks forward with optimism as Rev.
