AFRICA STUDENTS FOR CLIMATE ACTION (ASCA) CLUB
Description of Club
The Africa Students for Climate Action (ASCA) is an initiative led by H.E Samira Bawumia, Chair of the Africa Women and Chadeem Conference (AFRIWOCC). The initiative aims to empower students across Africa to take a leading role in climate action and promote environmental stewardship. The initiative was commemorated during the Green Ghana Dey celebrations and is supported by various stakeholders committed to sustainable development and climate action.
Club Activities
- Educational Workshops and Seminars: Regular sessions to educate members on various aspects of climate change, including its scientific basis, socio-economic impacts, and mitigation strategies
- Environmental Projects: Initiatives such as tree planting, waste management and renewable energy projects within school communities.
- Innovation Competition: Contests to promote creative and practical solutions to environmental challenges, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches.
- Advocacy Campaigns: Organise campaigns to raise awareness and advocate for policies that support climate action and environmental sustainability.
- Collaborations and Networking. Partner with local and international organizations to enhance the impact of club’s activities and provide members with broader opportunities for involvement.
